I believe this vintage Arai helmet was made in the first three years that Arai began making motorcycle helmets. Arai Hirotake Shoten Co. So i believe this is one of the earliest Arai’s around. The leather ear pieces are supple, the red suede liner is slightly darkened and still soft. The material around the headband is fully intact. The padding inside the sealed headband has some crunching if you squeeze it and sounds like the padding may be brittle inside. There are two small holes put into the red inside of the ear flaps and bits of the crumbling head padding fall out of those holes when shook around. Shown in photo #10. Some scratches, dings, and light surface scratches and subtle stains. No dents and a very cool and structurally sound piece that’s approximately 67 years old. Marked as Medium (head size) 6 7/8-7.
